about

BIO

Áron Tóth-Heyn is Paris-based Hungarian artist working with photography as a primary tool to examine constructed environments and the systems that shape human presence within them. His projects often emerge from specific social, political, or perceptual conditions, using photography to trace how boundaries — geographical, technological, or psychological — are produced and experienced.

His practice extends beyond traditional photographic display, incorporating modified presentation formats such as screens, publications, and spatial installations, while maintaining a strong commitment to image-based research. Rather than documenting fixed realities, his work approaches photography as a speculative medium — one that reveals instability, displacement, and the shifting relationship between individuals and their surroundings.

His series Us, Living on the Crust was exhibited at OFF Bratislava
(ON Award 2024), Photon Gallery Ljubljana, and during La Nuit Blanche in Paris. His work has been published in the third edition of If Not Now and Zone magazine. In early 2025, he was awarded the Stefan Lengyel Scholarship of Excellence, and during the year he participated in five group exhibitions with his new project De Rerum Natura.

He studied Photography at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest (MOME) and also completed courses at Les Gobelins, L’École de l’Image in Paris. In 2025 he became a new member of the Studio of Young Photographers.
